p-Doping
The word "doping" comes from the Latin word "dotare", meaning "to dope". In semiconductor technology, doping refers to the introduction of foreign atoms into a layer or the base material of an integrated circuit. In p-doping, trivalent elements called acceptors are introduced into the silicon lattice to replace the tetravalent silicon atom.
