Bi-directional Meter
A bi-directional meter is used in grid-connected systems up to 30 kW as a replacement for the standard electricity meter. It consists of two meters: one displays the amount of electricity drawn from the grid, and the other shows the amount of electricity fed into the grid. By comparing these two readings, it is possible to determine the proportion of electricity the photovoltaic system is contributing to self-consumption.
